SNOWMOBILING

Reindeer sledding

Glide through the snow on a traditional reindeer sled, guided by Sami from Kautokeino. Around 45 minutes to 1 hour of sledding, followed by storytelling, reindeer feeding, and a warm meal in a lavvu. Winter clothing is provided. Maximum 16 participants.

Who we are

At Heggeli Adventures, “local” isn’t just a fancy word we throw around. It’s the main point of what we do.
We live here, we work here, and we share a part of our lives.

Everyone on our team is from the Tromsø area. That includes the busdrivers!

We know the mountains, the light, and the weather, sometimes even before the forecast does. This is home to us.

Even the food we serve is part of that story. Our stew is made with meat and vegetables from farms within 30 kilometers of Heggeli. Everything is local, simple, and made with care.

When you visit us, you’re not buying a tour. You’re getting a piece of real Northern Norway, the way we live it every day.

At Heggeli Adventures, we are more than just guides – we are locals who live and breathe the Arctic. Our team is made up of people from the North, each bringing their own expertise and traditions to the experiences we offer.

And our snowmobile guides are from Heggeli itself, with deep roots in the region and decades of riding experience.

Our reindeer guides come from Kautokeino and are proud Sámi, sharing their culture and stories while giving you the chance to meet and learn about these iconic animals.

Together, we bring authenticity, knowledge, and passion to every adventure, ensuring that your time with us is not just an activity, but a true Northern Norwegian experience.

Where we are

Heggeli Adventures is located at Heggeli in Nordkjosbotn, a small village in Balsfjord, about a 60 min drive south of Tromsø and aprox. 120 min from Narvik. Here, the valleys open up to wide snowy landscapes surrounded by sharp mountain peaks and quiet forests. It’s the perfect balance between easy access and true wilderness.

From Tromsø, the road takes you through fjords and frozen lakes before arriving at our camp, tucked right at the edge of the mountains. The area is known for its stable snow, open terrain, and calm Arctic light – ideal for snowmobiling and reindeer sledding.

This is where the locals live and work, far enough from the city to feel the silence, yet close enough to make it easy for guests to visit.
